Resurrection

Well it has been quite sometime since i posted anything(8 months to be exact). The truth is I've actually changed my domain of developing. I'm more into Web Design/Development now, but that doesn't mean that I'm not developing desktop applications more. As of now I have worked on more than 5 websites. It mainly focussed on client-side scripting using JavaScript/HTML/CSS. I've been mainly working with the very popular JavaScript framework jQuery. It is simply an amazing framework. I never knew until now that you could do so many things with JavaScript and HTML. CSS is another topic to be discussed. Basic CSS is quite simple and can be done by any average web developer. But when you enter the domain of Advanced CSS it is just amazing. I'm not that familiar with Advanced CSS because it is not something you can learn within a period of 8 months. Alot of things in CSS can be done much simpler using jQuery  but the best thing would be to implement them using CSS because CSS doesn't use much resources as compared to JavaScript. I've also done server-side scripting using PHP, which is an open-source server-side scripting language. The combination of PHP/JavaScript/HTML/CSS is just amazing and the best part is that its all open-source , so you can learn it for free.

right now working on an autorun script for Ubuntu

i've created a shell script which will check whether a cd is mounted or not. But still trying to figure out how to execute a file on the cd because unlike autorun.inf in windows which will execute all the shell commands in that file, without knowing the path to a file in Ubuntu , you cannot execute anything through a shell script. The problem that i have experienced is that different cds have different paths i.e they cannot be accessed everytime from /media/cdrom or /media/cdrom0 .. therefore will have to find a way to get the path .. most probably will have to go into low level programming

Are you a windows 7 fan?

Windows 7 is a pretty slick operating system. There are some cool stuff you need to check out. It's all there in http://www.howtogeek.com . Its an awesome site. My personal favourite is the different shortcuts that you can make. I don't think the average users  would know the command lines for the shortcuts. Its pretty awesome. Check it out .. :)
